You've been Nighttimming baby and it's starting to show....

You've got your pleasures all around you, all in a row....  Nighttimming, baby!!

So recently I fell madly in love with long exposures.  I have surrounded myself with creative minds and we have been hard at work experimenting and mastering this photography trick.

Some are from the "Strip" on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Some are done in my house.  Or along a road side, or hanging off a bridge.  I hope you enjoy these as much as we did making them!!

Autumn Splendor

Oh the days of October here are the best all year!  The humidity finally backs off and allows the crispness to settle in.  Each day ripens the trees a little more into their full beauty. Breath taking views in any weather!

Sheep make good friends

These sheep live in town.  They seem to remember me and the sound of my voice and come barrelling toward me when I come for visits.

I have quite the crush on the fluffy brown one, calling him Cocoa. Not sure if they have names, but I always name them!  They seem to be ok with it.

The sheep have MEAN geese roommates.  Some of them are very fancy and have funny feathers that stick out and give them flare. Pretty or not, they are MEAN!  They also come running with the sheep. Can't tell of they're running toward us to attack or are greeting us.

Been a while

Hello darlings!   I am sorry for my absence, I have been quite busy playing with the cameras and enjoying autumn!

Recently got very into long exposures and fun with light sticks. I'll post all that I have been up to in the past weeks.

Brought a bunch of photos and postcards up to the shop to sell.  So far, still no real competition.  Visited my sheepy friends for some great photos and conversations, too.

I've taken a lot of photos lately. I'll share them all...

Enjoy, and thank you!!

Abandoned

I so want to get my hands on an abandoned house.  With a willing model, too.  I get very inspired when I see photos of people doing shoots in the crumbling house. The contrast to me is moving.  I love peeling paint and torn wallpaper. Something about missing floor boards and door-less cabinets that make a striking photo.

Now to get into one before the cops show up....   Plus, I need to find one. Sure we have a few- but they're not in utter decay like you'd want it to be.  I may do some scoping out this weekend- see if I can find an old weathered house.  And some one willing to risk trespassing charges for great portraits!  Shouldn't be too hard...

I'll keep you posted....

Nightimming!

Helllo All!

I am a happy girl today!  I had a bunch of film developed and they look great.  There are a few I am especially proud of!

One night not so long ago, I found myself on a highway over-pass shooting long exposures of tail lights on cars. Not having done this before, I am extremely pleased with the results!  And not so pleased with how bridges move lol!!    I think NIGHTIMMING and hanging off bridges will be my new thing- I really love the the electric glow of lights shimmering.

Some were taken with infrared film.  Not sure what I was expecting, but like them none-the-less.  It's all for fun, I don't take anything too seriously.  Well, except the processing. I am getting itchy and restless waiting days for things to be done.

My newest acquirement is a slide and negative scanner. Works like a charm.  I think by the end of this month I'll be back to processing film in my bathroom again. Yes, yes, I know- what about supporting the Indy lab? Well they can still print things for me. Coming from a photo lab- I'm having trouble being reasonable about time frames and the quality of others. It's frustrating conveying how a photo is supposed to look to some one when you're not happy with their printing results. I don't like "touch ups", I don't like your opinion, I don't like what you think it "should" look like. I don't believe in Photo Shop- the photo is either taken well or it's not.  If you have to edit your work to make it acceptable- you're not much of a photographer. Sorry 'bout it.

I'm going to contact my old friend S.W. who works for the old lab people still.  She is a photographer if I ever met one, and one hell of a Lab Rat, too.   I don't know why I haven't yet. I have some phone calls to make!!  So anywho, photos of random fun with film are included!

Free range

So as  I mentioned before, I drove up to the shop on the weekend to check out where I'm selling my photos.  I have NO competition what-so-ever.  It's ALL me!  What a great way to start out, no one to bump elbows with!

I wandered around the property before meeting with the owner.  Strolled through the down trodden grassy paths through the apple orchard, hearing kids and families enjoying the thrills that Autumn brings.

I bumped into Old Red, a big old farm truck parked off on the edge of the woods.  He's seen better days, I'll tell you what!  When I asked the owner what was Red's deal, he told me with delight that he's getting restored this year back to his prime!  I love old cars and trucks, so great to photograph.

I took some of Old Red with my fish eye lens, I thought he'd look cool this way, and he does!  I can't wait to see him progress back to his original state, I'll have to snap shots of him on his journey!
